PARKINSONS AT ST GEORGES PARK

SUNDAY 5TH MARCH ST GEORGES PARK PARKINSON TOURNAMENT.

REPORT BY BRENDAN PARKINSONS TEAM MANAGER

On a cold day at the home of England football.

All players arrived in good spirits, when we all assembled inside the football dome where the temperature inside was very cold and affected the players.

1st up Birmingham Blues v FAMBO a good end to end game, Andy making some good saves this gave the team confidence to go and press .Barry scoring .giving the Blues a 1-0 win.

Great start ….Blues Game 1

Birmingham Whites v Abbymeade Rovers kicked off with 1-0 win. Game was particularly good with Erica scoring, players settled into the game and any nerves went when we scored…

Great Start here to Whites Game 1

B’ham Blues v FFF Black 0-0. Tight game with Andy making some great saves keeping the Blues in the game… Blues Game 2

B’ham Whites v Little Mix. 0-4 Heavy loss due to playing a team of able bodied players think one Parkinson player …Their movement we couldn’t match I thought their 1st goal player in the area, but who am I to say, only ref 5 times a week ..Woody played well in goal but their strikes were good finishes ….   Whites Game 2

B’ham Blues v Parkysourus.   This Game very tight again Andy making great saves. The ref gave a penalty against us claiming Martins heel in the area ( very harsh as refs in all other games allowed at least one warning due to players condition near the goal area so very unlucky to lose)… Game 3

B’ham Whites v PDW Bristol Braves…2-0 …This result was awarded due to this team being able bodied players, (don’t know how this was allowed) The score was high think 4-0? …Game 3

B’ham Blues v Pennine Parkies Black 0-1. Again, the Blues were unlucky, playing some neat football could have gone either way. Their goal put away from rebound off keeper, I thought the ref was going to give us a free kick, but after he thought about it gave the goal. Still nothing going for the Blues …  Game 4

B’ham Whites v Radio Parkies 0-0. Well, they say when your out of luck, B’ham Whites dominated this game. Again, on the wrong end of decision as a Radio Parkies player well inside the area, but the ref it as player forgot. (no way blooming 3ft inside), took it on the chin …Game 4.

B’ham Blues v Pennine Parkies White 0-2. We were always up against it, this team had 3 England players in it!  Andy was superb again keeping the score respectable as they peppered his goal… Game 5

B’ham Whites v Movers and Shakers 0-0. Again B’ham had the best of the game, having at least 4 attempts on goal and saved by their youthful keeper (IZZY.) Game 5

BOTH TEAMS QUALIFIED FOR THE QTR FINALS …

B’ham Blues v Abbymeade Rovers. Another game taken away from us – Due to the Ref not awarding a Pen … Rod on the edge of area waiting for the ball to roll out was adjudged to have toenail in area … when a Abbymeade player walking across the area and Pen not given. We went to pens, again we were through but their players asking ref to take again, so in the spirit of the game we let them take again. Andy got a hand to it, we were then unlucky with Peter having his Pen saved ..lost on Pens 2-1. As to letting them take again I don’t think other teams would have let them giving up semi-final place …

B’ham Whites v Movers and Shakers Blue 0-2 Lost this one to a good team having pen as one players drifted into the area …Simon our B’ham player played for them and dominated midfield pushing them on to result.
