NATIONALS ENDS IN SUDDEN DEATH PENS

Sunday wasn’t just a big day for England in the Euro Final but BWFC +50’s had a National game against locals Hartshill WFC as well!
It was a hard fought tussle by two strong teams. Hartshill took an early lead but Birmingham responded to equalise through Milan Mazic. The second half was equally end to end with Birmingham peppering the Hartshill keeper hitting the post three times! Steve Burr looked to have settled the tie pouncing on a rare Hartshill error to put the Brummies 2-1 up with moments to spare. Amazingly the game wasn’t over with the referee awarding a penalty in the dying seconds to Hartshill. Full time score 2-2.
Extra time ensued with both teams scoring as the period ended 3-3!
Penalties was the only way to decide the game now and Birmingham triumphed after sudden death 5-4 ….an omen for the evenings Euros!
